Bulgarian Orthodox Church



Bulgarian Patriarchate is an ancient local Orthodox autocephalous Eastern Orthodox Church. Recognized it in 927 a Patriarchate makes it the first autocephalous church in ancient Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem, in the oldest church folk in Europe and the Slavic peoples. In 2013, the BOC has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II, becoming the first religious institution such nomination.
